... Promise to re-introduce CRK
MINNA: As lobbying for various political positions get intensified, Niger State Governor, Rt Hon Umar Bago has reiterated that he will only appoint into his cabinet those who are qualified.
Speaking at a Special Thanksgiving Service to mark their inauguration at St. Michael Catholic Cathedral Church, Minna, Bago who was represented by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba said “we will be fair and just to all persons in the State but please put us in prayers”.
Accordingly, he said “we will appoint and engage only those who merit it. I can assure you this, our appointment will not be based on favoritism but on merit”.

While calling on Christians to continue to pray for security agencies facing the Bandits and other vices, he urged the people to be security conscious at all times.
Also, the Governor assured that his government will revisit the call for the re-introduction od the Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) across schools because it will affect the morals of children positively.

Earlier, during the ‘Homily’, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Niger State, Most Rev. Dr. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna tasked the Governor to reintroduce to schools the Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK).
According to him “our society needs serious reformation, our children morals are in shambles and for us to tackle it is through the re-introduction of the CRK to schools.”
He further called for total unity amongst the people of the state irrespective of religious and ethnic divides saying “if we must achieve result and succeed this time around is to unite and work with the current government to succeed.”
